Ambulatory unit

Ambulatory unit of Women’s and Children’s Clinic (first floor in D-wing) conducts consultations with:

  • women’s doctors
  • paediatricians
  • midwives
  • postnatal counselling
  • breast feeding counselling.

 

The centre has a room for measuring bone density, and it holds lectures for Family School. The department employs 3 doctors of women and 10 midwives who conduct independent consultations. There are also consultations with doctor-consultants (full-time in-patient doctors) and doctor-residents.

 

Opening hours of the ambulatory unit are:

 Mon-Fri from 08.00 - 18.00.

 

After 18.00 on working days and on days off you can turn to emergency medicine department (ED), where the doctor on duty gives emergency assistance.

 

Some useful tips before coming to the doctor:

  • You can register for the doctor’s or midwife’s consultation without a referral and irrespective of the place of residence.
  • You can register by calling at (+372) 447 3300
  • You must pay the visit fee 5 EUR, on your first visit.
  • When coming to the consultation, please bring a personal identification document with a photo
  • Patients who are not insured by the Health Insurance Fund pay for the visit and tests according to the valid price list.
  • Pregnant women receive health insurance after the doctor has determined the pregnancy.
  • Pregnant women’s first counselling and registration is within 2 weeks.

 

Three consultation rooms have a stationary ultrasound scanner. The number of ultrasound scans has increased due to the new device Voluson E6, which enables 3D/4D scans.
